My final day in Denver, and the sun was shining. I decided to take a walk down to Great Divide Brewery and Tap Room for a tasting. It was Friday evening and it was PACKED!
I decided that a three glass tasting would be in need, so I promptly chose three beers I thought I’d enjoy: Imperial Yeti Stout, Hoss Rye Lager, and Hercules Double IPA.
I stood around outside randomly for a bit since the tables were all taken and the inside was packed, but that old addage that “Beer People Are Good People” showed its face. I was asked to join a table of a local guy and a visiting couple. My phone was able to get charged and I tested out my new WineSox for dealing with stemmed beerware.
I quite enjoyed the Hoss Rye Lager. I hadn’t had too many Ryes before, but I just really enjoy the dry flavor that rye brings in.
And when you’re making friends, why not keep making friends? I stayed on until the tap room closed. I sampled some of the Rumble Wood Aged IPA, and the Wild Raspberry Ale. Both were excellent. I met one of the owners of Bottless and got to see their 32 oz ‘growlette’ which is a quite handy shape for take home beers. I’m already planning a GrowletteSox. Here’s the barkeeps, Spencer, Jennie, and Will, cleaning up with a Growlette of Hoss in the foreground.
A good time was had by all, and I have some beers and bottles I’m going to be seeking out in the H-town area!
Cheers!
Katie
